Kure Beach Real Estate
Kure Beach: Peaceful, clean sandy beaches stretch along the length of Kure Beach. The shore is lined with a variety of beachfront homes, punctuated with an historic fishing pier extending from the beach out into the ocean. Situated on .78 miles of Pleasure Island, Kure Beach is considered more laid-back than its Carolina Beach neighbor to the north.
Kure Beach NC Lifestyle
Mostly a residential community, Kure Beach is filled with beautiful clapboard homes with wrap-round white porches and balconies. While a forest and the Cape Fear River sit on the west side of Kure Beach, the east side’s Atlantic Ocean is the central focus of this popular community. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy fishing off Kure Beach’s pier, which in 1923 was the first pier built on the Atlantic Coast. Sea kayaking, swimming and surfing are popular activities for Kure Beach residents, as are hiking, cycling and lounging on the beach.
Although the population has increased by about 30 percent since 2000, many of the town’s original families still live in Kure Beach, including the Kure family.
Kure Beach maintains a town park, featuring a disc golf course, playground, dog park, picnic area and a sports facility. The town’s newest park, Kure Beach Ocean Front Park is situated next to the Kure Beach Fishing Pier, offering even more activities and recreation space for residents and visitors. The Town of Kure Beach sponsors a variety of classes and activities, as well as a few very special events each year: a street festival in April, a Christmas show in December and a summer concert series at Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area.
Homes For Sale on Kure Beach NC
Beach cottages, larger luxury homes in vibrant tropical colors and low-rise townhouses line the beach and fill the town with a winsome ambiance. Views of the ocean on one side and wooded vistas of the Cape Fear River on the other provide unparalleled panoramas for residents. With views like those, it’s no wonder wrap-around porches and balconies adorn so many Kure Beach homes.
Kure Beach Home Prices
Median home prices in Kure Beach hover around $350,000. Homes along Fort Fisher Boulevard, the street running alongside Kure Beach’s waterfront, are coveted for their stellar ocean views.
